Thomas, a German speaking Capetonian has a definite passion for the mountains and has trekked in almost all the surrounding mountains of Cape Town, plus many other endurance trails throughout South Africa for over two decades. The love for the outdoors has included countless camping events and numerous canoe trips down the Orange River. Fitting in and communicating well with people of all backgrounds, Thomas has successfully led different group sizes with varying ages on all these events.

Numerous successful climbs up Kilimanjaro, including some high profile names can now be added to the list of outdoor events. With a strong sense of responsibility, a little humour and a desire to meet and exceed guests expectations, Thomas will instil a high degree of confidence in his guests and in his quiet manner will always go the extra mile to help guests reach their target. Maintaining the sense of journey and adventure appropriate to the chosen event will quickly bury any worries guests may have.

Paul has been in the mountains most of his life, growing up in Cape Town and hiking the various mountain ranges as a boy. Summiting Kilimanjaro was a life changing experience and made him think about climbing mountains full time. Fortunately, Thomas had the same idea and together they formed African Outdoor Adventures to make their dream a reality.

Apart from climbing mountains, Paul has completed over 100 marathons, Comrades Marathons (55 miles), Two Oceans Marathons (35 miles) where he has a permanent number and 9 silver medals, Iron Man Triathlon, competed at Provincial level in Duathlon, completed many Argus Cycle Tours and in his spare time finds time to play golf, surf and rock climb.

Paul blends responsible leadership with a good sense of humour making your challenge an experience of a lifetime that will not be forgotten.
